Journalist. Producer. Writer.

Marabia C. Smith-Boone is a hardcore journalist, producer, writer, feminist, and activist constantly working to restructure the media industry.

This native New Yorker graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in 2015. She received a Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Broadcast and Digital Journalism.

She first entered the news and media market working for CBS Radio News in New York City. Her time with Radio eventually led to a transition over to CBS This Morning. From her time working on the show’s Fact Check Team to her work producing live guest segments and taped feature pieces, she grew writing national news for television viewers.

Marabia later joined Yahoo! Finance’s digital streaming service where she worked as a segment producer, editorial writer, and guest booker. When her time with Yahoo! Finance came to an end, Marabia spent a few months working as a freelance producer for other programs. She is also an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).

When she is not researching for feature pitches or producing segments, you can find Marabia writing up screenplays and spec scripts on the side. Whether it be for news or fiction, writing is a key activity in her lifestyle.

She is currently a Segment Producer.
